O Frysia

This is a flik of the Canadian national anthem for a country in the LARP Aberddu. This country HATES ELVES!

O Frysia!
Our home in rightful hands,
True patriot love in all thy sons command
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The homeland strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Frisia, we purge the elves for thee!
Keep our land cleansed and free!
O Frisia, we purge the elves for thee!
O Frisia, we purge the elves for thee!

Nomfox: Not-Bolognase

Ok, so I decided to make my Bolognase sauce today, but stuck a problem. Maybe if I publish this on tumblr I’ll know where it went well. It went as such:

I fried to half-onion, which went ok, and then started on the mince. At this step I added Worcestershire sauce (Lea and Perrins for those of us unable to say it) to the mince, and fried. I added the mushrooms and went to add the chopped tomatoes.

At which point I learned that I had none. A blow to the plan.

Thankfully, I had some kidney beans, so I adjusted the plan! Whoop! I added that and instead of adding my usual of oregano and basil I found some cinnamon, cayanne and chilli powder. I realize at this point I wasn’t making bolognase, but some weird concoction close to chilli on the bolognase-chilli scale. Also at this point I added an Oxo cube crubled into the mix.

With this in mind, I added more Lea and Perrins, pepper and let it boil then simmer for 10 minutes, much as one would do with bolognase sauce. Serve on toast that’s was removed from the toaster and buttered approximatly 2 minutes before serving.

Now to see what this mess has caused…

Conclusion:

Seems ok, if a little spicy. Next time I’ll add less chilli powder. Doesn’t taste off, but does taste a bit weird, not what I expected. I shall experiment more next time.

Cooking is Science!

On Souldrains…

Trying to work out how to make a S’more of a soul, and cloud elf souls may taste of marshmallows.

SO!

Either I can get a cloud elf soul and toast it on a firey soul, I’m to use reet for this.

Or I can souldrain both a cloud elf and a fire elf at the same time to get the whole marshmallow and fire thing!

Or, even better, souldrain a half-cloud half-fire elf. But that’s more rare.

I must not make Ulysses a connoisseur of souls…

30-day characterization; Q4

Exachix insisted I ask them another, so let’s do it.

(From: http://kalany.tumblr.com/post/12874054198/thirty-day-characterization-questionnaire-in-depth)

Q4:What does your character believe their universe will look like in a year?  Ten?  A hundred?

Exachix: Let’s do this chronologically. In a year’s time, the world will be in the process of being torn asunder by gods as they fight for power and collective might until intervention or the AAG stop them or something. Or the war will be rising and all hell will be breaking loose.

In ten years the world will be simmilar, but political balace will have vastly changed who controls countries. I predict ‘Nippon’ will be smaller, and hopefully eradicated as they should be.

In a hundred? Well, I predict another world-changing event like the Cataclysm by then. Maybe a large war brining Albion, Hasselt, Nippon, Frisia, Paravel and Aragorn into conflict. One can hope.

Ulysses: Let’s see.. in a year’s time I will be fairly powerful, but the world will not have changed. It will still be marching off to war with no heed for it’s people. Like it always does.

In ten years time a major race will be dead. There’s just too much power in Frysia, Nippon, and Aragorn for one of them to not to have attempted to kill one another, and in ten years they should be able to. Nippon have done it before.

In a hundred years, yeah like Exachix said. The world is moving fast now and it’ll be a great thing to stop it changing. Like the AAG!

Exachix and Ulysses are conspiracy theorists of the first order.

30-day characterization; Q3

(From: http://kalany.tumblr.com/post/12874054198/thirty-day-characterization-questionnaire-in-depth)

Q3: How does your character believe their universe came into being?

Exachix: Why does that matter? Only now matters. In actuality, I’ve never thought about it, nor do I wholly care. You can’t change it, why worry.

I see you’re pressing for an answer. If you must, I would not make such a large assumption. Now leave me.

Ulysses: Only now considering this, I assume it’s some form of collaboration effort between the gods, producing differing areas with their differing opinions. I *know* the world changed suddenly with the Cataclysm, and the world is changing now with the strife and war we’re in. I’d like to know exactly how and what happened. I guess at some point I should know, and hopefully will find out.

Exachix and Ulysses contribute weekly to their temples.

30-day characterization; Q2

And I’ll do another today to catch up.

(From: http://kalany.tumblr.com/post/12874054198/thirty-day-characterization-questionnaire-in-depth)

Q2: Does your character believe people are born innately good, innately evil, blank slate, or something in between?  Do they believe people have innate worth?  What is their position on the phrase “The good of the many outweighs the good of the one”?

Exachix: Whelp. I believe people have a natural disposition on good or evil, but are changeable and easily changed. They can be taught how, or pick up how, to be good or evil. Sometimes they can’t, and those people carry on. Innate worth? Of course people are different and so must have a different cost or profit. With this value the phrase can be estimated.

Ulysses: Excepting those born in exceptional circumstances (see below) you’re a blank being ready to be imprinted upon. Each and every person, unless they’ve done wondrous things, are the same and live to die. Each person is roughly as equal to each other.

The exception would be those born in a state of pit- or void- taint, they are innately going to be evil and wrong, and of lesser worth. Others may also be different, these are of lesser, or greater worth.

Note that I give most people a worth, but this is usually estimated on the results they’d give, and the quality of their soul.

Exachix and Ulysses are both cruel and heartless characters of mine from Aberddu.

30-day characterization; Q1

(From: http://kalany.tumblr.com/post/12874054198/thirty-day-characterization-questionnaire-in-depth)

Q1: What religious and/or philosophical beliefs does your character hold about the universe they live in?  Do they hold any beliefs which are unusual for their society?  Do these beliefs ever create conflict with another person or persons?

Exachix: Well, I believe in the gods, and that some of them are not to be messed with. As I mostly follow the aspect of the trickster known as Anansi, I do venerate and worship both beings (Anansi and the Trickster). From my homeland this is unusual, but within aberddu this is not unusual as there is a large collection of faiths there. Unusual is an unusual concept for a city with so much different races and faiths and walks of life.

Even within my own faith there is conflict, the man who introduced me to the faith, Ares Payne, didn’t believe that the whiteface aspect’s followers were doing the right thing, and that most people who act ‘Oh the trickster is for pranks!’ are in the wrong. I subscribe to that point of view and in life I attempted to prove we aren’t all bad.

Ulysses: Given it’s my nature to eat the souls of those who I slay, I’d say that I do believe souls exist given the evidence shown. I guess I venerate Kesoth over all others, as I’m attempting to survive at any cost of the others, though would not make this opinion public. This faith is generally frowned upon in all quarters, but the majority of followers are not secretive, and it’s not that unusual.

This faith alone gives me conflict, but I live for a fight and so this only feeds me strength. That said, keeping quiet about it allows me to choose my fights.

Exachix is a Wood elf turned Dark elf thief-priest of Anansi, Trickster aspect of Collection, and quite quite dead. Ulysses is an old Sebythe that has lived for some time and now is pursuing other knowledges to gain power.

Thirty-day characterization questionnaire: in-depth

kalany:

I designed this questionnaire to help you get to know your characters better (RP, OC, fanfic, it shouldn’t matter).  It’s deliberately more in-depth than most 30-day questionnaires out there, covering a fairly wide span of philosophical and cultural issues.

If you don’t know what all the terms mean, you can either Google or ignore the subquestions affected — it’s okay.

Whelp. I’m going to do this.

I’ll do each day as Exachix and Ulysses, to better distinguish the two characters.
